Rebecca – Cognitive Behavioural Therapist

Rebecca has worked in the NHS for the last 20 years, initially as an Occupational Therapist, specialising in adult mental health and for the last 10 years as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT). Rebecca is a fully accredited therapist with ‘The British Association of Cognitive and Behavioural Psychotherapists’ (BABCP) and specialises in treating depression and anxiety disorders and has lectured in CBT at De Montford University.

In 2014 she had the opportunity to start ‘Therapy Warwickshire’ and work in a private capacity, this enabled her to provide a flexible evening practice to complement ongoing therapy for the NHS.

Perinatal mental health has always been a passion of Rebecca’s, initially supporting the Expecting Another – Antenatal Refresher course, she says “it just makes sense, the benefits of supporting people to maintain good mental health is so effective and stretches way beyond Mum and baby to partner and siblings”.

Professionally and intellectually Rebecca always knew how challenging the adjustment to parenthood could be and recently becoming a parent herself she now understands the emotional impact as well. Her own personal experience of becoming a Mum has really helped to enrich her work in this area. Igniting enthusiasm to support others to ‘parent proof’ their mental wellbeing.

We are thrilled that Rebecca has joined us to build our professional support for local expectant and new parents.
